I never really post about my life and what I’m up to, only because I really wonder “does anyone care?” Well in the last 5 months, we bought a new house and have been settling in. We still have a ton of work to do on it, but it’s going to take months, if not years to get it all done. It might go a little faster, if we didn’t have Jake running around, and I DO mean RUNNING. I realize I hardly ever post about him, but he’s here. Normally at my feet, begging for milk or food, of having a meltdown because he’s way over due for a nap.
Today was an especially amazing day. Today he turned 1.5 years old. I never realized how much my life would change with the little guy in it. Sure the first 4 Months, I was looking for the return policy, I won’t lie, it was hard. There are days that Seth asks me something like, “Why is he crying?”, and I’ll turn and say “well, if you hadn’t left the baby instruction manual at the hospital, I’d know the answer”. That answer usually gets a head tilt and an eye glare to which I respond with “What? I TOLD you to grab it.”
All and all, even when the manual would have come in handy, Master Jake has been a joy in my life. I know I have a lot of brides read my blog. A lot wonder about having a kid and managing life. You can do both but it takes a lot of really good wine. The only free time I get to myself is in the bathroom. The other day my husband said “You seem to spend a lot of time in there”. I think he’s on to me. I refer to it as the break room. I keep my iPad hidden under the cabinet and take Mommy breaks. Maybe I’ll start stashing wine in there too. (was this an over share? See, this is why I leave the personal stuff off the blog!) Please know, I’m mostly being sarcastic. Which part? Well, that’s for you to figure out!
Well, anyway, this is a photography blog, and well, I had to take his 18 Month Photos. If you want more personal stuff, feel free to leave a comment below. I’m not the best writer, but I’ve been told my way with words makes people laugh. I have people friend me on Facebook just to see my status updates.
To my husband, well it’s been 18 months, and no trips to the ER. I think we are doing okay! The first one is my favorite. He’s going to be a runner… just like his Daddy!
