Often overlooked, head shots by woman in Massachusetts! Taking your cell phone out after getting your hair done will not do for a head shot. Woman in Massachusetts need to step it up and spend a little money to get a professional quality head shot.
Tips for Great Head shots
1. Ask about clothing
This is often forgotten when people call me. You can just show up in anything. You want to make sure the color you choose compliments your hair and eyes as well as goes with the background
2. Pick a background a background color.
Most people go with white as you can then change the white to any color you want!! Also for websites, the white head shot shows up seamlessly on the website
3. Get hair and make up professionally done.
I am not saying spend all your money at the salon, but if you have a hair appointment coming up, it doesn't hurt to schedule the shoot the same day! Also, if you can stop by a make up counter for a quick consult and free trial that helps too.
People ask me all the time what you should expect to pay for head shots. For a quick 30 minute in studio head shot; look to spend roughly $150-$350 depending on the photographer and their studio make up. If they have a HUGE studio with lots of overhead, they will be priced a bit higher. Our head shots run about $175 for in-studio and $250. for on-location per hour.
