The Boston Common is a great spot for engagement photos! Most don't know it's the oldest public park in the United States! The Common is a centrally located park in Boston right off route 2, and just north of the Mass Pike, Route 90. One of its best features is its underground parking garage with 1350 spaces. Along the street, you will find metered parking spots that you can access with your iPhone with the ParkBoston App.
There are a few places right on the Common to stay if you choose to make a weekend trip to Boston. One of the most beautiful hotels in the area to stay by the Common is The Taj hotel now renamed and rebranded to "The Newbury"
Right around the corner from the Common you also have "The Ritz Carton." It's been said that Billy Joel stays here and the day before a concert can be found playing the piano in the bar.
In the winter, you can find so many fun activities such as ice skating on Frog Pond, and sledding. If you stumble upon the ice skating and are without skates, not to worry, they rent them there! They also have an ice skating school if you want to take lessons. In the spring and summer, you can find a reflecting pool, the famous swan boats, and a sprinkler park.
Once you are done exploring the Common, you're right next to Beacon Hill. You can head over to Charles Street to the famous "Cheers" Bar for a photo, or head up to some of the cobblestone streets that surround the area. You will find gas light lanterns (2800 of them to be exact in the city) If you are looking for cobblestoned streets for engagement photos you can find many more than just Acorn Street.
If you are looking to do your photos on Acorn Street, just know they have some restrictions and you now need a permit to take photos. If you walk around the same streets, you will be able to find other streets with Cobblestones that don't require permits!
